(D1, MN, Open) Patrol: Dumpster Diving

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

Laura slid her arms out of her sleeves looking defeated.

"OK yeah some stuff in this town glows, doesn't mean anything though. This whole area is probably radioactive or something."


You do not sound convincing.

[Cameron York]

Cam grinned "Laura come on girl, you and I both read too many comics for that."

"I get it I don't trust people either. Not easily, and we only really met like a day ago but. I get the feeling we're pretty similar." He took a deep breath "mine let's me transform." He said finally laying his cards out on the table.

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

As Cameron spoke Ahn'Gr, the being she was bonded with, was also speaking; telling her to show so faith and trust in someone.

"Fine!" She said a bit louder than intended. Surprised by herself she looked around quickly then retreated into a shadow.

"Fine." She said again looking at Cameron. "I guess he really wants to meet you or something."

She touched the bracelet on her wrist and closed her eyes. Suddenly the orange rocks sprang to life and rapidly started to cover her body. She grew taller and layer upon layer of hard rock encased her till she was unrecognizable and towered over the boy.

"Hello Cameron, it is nice to meet you."

[Cameron York]

Cameron's eyes grew wide as he looked up at the large rock monster that had been the meek girl just moments before "uhhh H-hi."

"Wow that's way more impressive than what I can do."

"What is your name?" He knew his other form had its own name so why wouldn't hers?

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"I am called Ahn'Gr but have decided to call ourselves ENRAGE"

"My idea." Though deeper Laura's voice could still be heard clearly.

"Mmm, yes it was. Cameron York, I wonder if your medallion could contain one of my cluster mates."

[Cameron York]

"Wow well hey nice to uh meet you Ahn'Gr. I don't think the necklace holds anything like you. They are a bit different from you."

Cam stepped into the shadow of the alley way to his right and for a moment just his outline was visible until he melted away completely and from the left side of the Alley way a slightly taller figure stepped out. The shadows clung to them, and seemed to almost move as they did. They were slender with little indication a gender and they grasped a long spear in one hand that had a glow of its own.

The figure wore a mask and clothing that would feel more in place in the medieval times or at a Ren Faire. The figure bowed

"Well met, traveller from the stars. I am the watcher from the shadows, I have no name such as you know them but young Cameron here calls me Umbra." their voice was smooth but smokey it coiled in ones ears in a not unpleasant way and had a faint air of amuesment.

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"Holy shit Cameron you're the fucking Grim Reaper?!" She said amazed though no expression could be found on Enrage's nearly featureless face.

"You do not fee like you are from this realm, how did you come to be here?"

[Amaterasu]

As the two youngsters transformed, the scroll grew brighter. It had the same energy as both of them. The lake dot swirled and showed a creature emerging from it, first it was like a blob of water then became a chimera.

[Cameron York]

One who has transcended this mortal planeTwo voices chuckled in unison "Not quite my dear Laura, i am merely a traveller. A scholar. One who through years of study has transcended this mortal plane."

"I came here through my own designs, great warrior."

Umbra looked at the map "It seems the map has resonated with our energies. A creature has emerged from the lake."

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"That must be why they closed the lake to visitors. But that's a chimera, they are from ancient myth they aren't real and they certainly aren't made of water."

"Is it dangerous?"

"Uhh, yeah, very. One of our greatest fictional heroes barely beat one in the legends. But I think it was supposed to be a metaphor, the people that wrote stories back then loved metaphors."

[Cameron York]

"You just turned into a rock monster and I am a, whatever this is. I think some of those old legends could have been more literal than we thought."

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"OK that is true but...wait a minute, half the kids in our class have the glow. Genesis and her brother Richard have the glow. Does that mean all of us can do this?"

[Cameron York]

"perhaps, though the glow merely denotes that the item emits magical energies. Like your map here, I do not believe it holds some restrained conciousness or magical transformative powers. It is simply a magic map. The items other students hold could be like your bracelt or Cameron's necklace or they could be like this map here." Umbra explained.

While their voice was pleasant one got the impression they felt as if they were explaining extremely simple concepts in their eyes. It was not unlike the way an adult explains something to a child, there was no malice in it but it could rub one the wrong way.

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"Your concern should with the beast not your schoolkin. We must stop it before it does harm."

"Not tonight we shouldn't. I'm telling you if we are suddenly in a world where this stuff is possible the two of us cannot defeat a chimera."

[Cameron York]

"You are one of little faith child. Though we need not fight it we could merely observe it. Or save it for another evening. Though i know not how long it will content itself to stay harmlessly near the lake."

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"Laura has great strength but little confidence."

"Hey! I'm just being cautious, do the three of you wanna go running down there right now?"

[Cameron York]

"We could at least go take a look. Umbra here is pretty fast, no super speed or anything but they can outrun most normal people."

"Not saying we should fight it necesarrily."

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"I struggle under this planet's gravity."

Layers of stone folded in on one another and the form of Enrage retreated back into the stone bracelet, leaving only Laura.

"Yeah he isn't very subtle." She sighed. "If all you want to do check it out sure, I mean just because we found a magical map doesn't mean it it telling us the truth so we might as well verify it I guess."

[Cameron York]

"Yeah we can check it out, or I mean we can do some research and come at it more prepared in a night or two. See if we can find anymore people that are like us."

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"Well who do we know for sure that has the glow? Johnothan for sure, his pen is always glowing. I know Richard does but he's maybe too young and it's hard to get him away from Genesis."
