The 30 minute toy commercials have just moved to YouTube. Every YouTube show my 9yo watches seems to be advertising some product or another.

I was more of a fan of quality programming like Simon and Simon.

At least back in the 80s the shows pretended not to be toy commercials instead of just having a rich 4 year old give a bunch of positive reviews before asking for their viewers to like and subscribe

But I take the point about the unboxing videos. My 8-year-old's...more fond of them than I appreciate.

Even beyond the unboxing stuff that's more deliberate and open about advertising, one channel my kid used to watch had these very creative skits and then started just playing with one type of toy each 'episode' and throwing out very obvious marketing lines they got from the company. Then there's the ones that play roblox...
