Jonothan found a seat by the window, as he usually did, and set his backpack down on the floor. He had his notebook out and was writing something as he waited for class to begin.

It'll only be moments later that another figure sits down behind Jonothan, back closer to the shelves at the back of the classrooom.

"Hey," Coop says as he sits down and gets out a pencil and a pad of staff paper.

Having arrived to school early, the new transfer student entered the room with her hands in her black jacket pocket. Rather than sitting down and stealing someones desk, she went to lean against the wall looking out of the window. Letting her hood fall down which would show her hairstyle for the day with black trimming in the pink



Her eyes were purple today it seemed instead of pink

Jono glanced back. "Morning."

Mariana quietly made her entrance. She was wearing a black shirt and black jeans blue sneakers with a black accents. Her face was dower as many goth kid did. The girl went to the back of the room trying to not be seen.

Entering the classroom, Simon made his way to his desk in the back corner of the room near the outlet and took a moment to unpack his laptop and plug in the charger. Waiting for the laptop to boot up, he spots the rumored new girl leaning against the wall and offers a wave.

Jono glanced back. "Morning."

A nod towards the notebook. "Working on lyrics? Or trying to get that paper done?"

"Just jotting down a few ideas for a story." he answered. "Or a song. We'll see."

Coop nods.

"I get that. Good songs tell stories, too. Johnny Cash did it all the time."

"Folsom Prison Blues is a classic." he nodded. "The stories are why I generally prefer country."

"It's why I talked about Cash, yeah," Coop replies. "It ain't only country, though. I mean, Wagner's all about stories, and Ellington's Black, Brown, and Beige is a story."

"I know." he smiled. "That's how music should be. It's just that a lot of songs seem to be more about a dance beat than anything else."

"Well, yeah," Coop agrees. "But not everybody's lucky enough to be good at music. Besides, it's not like there's any shortage of two-stepping to Patsy Cline or the Red-Headed Stranger."

"True." he nodded. "Some of the new country seems to be going that way, too. It can be argued that Achy Breaky Heart is a story, but I don't think it's much of one."

Coop snorts a laugh.

"I don't think we'll hear much more about that guy. One-hit wonder at best."

"Definitely." he laughed. "What have you been up to, Coop?"

Astrid caught movement out of the corner of her eye, and turned her purple eyes to look in that direction. There was a small tilt of the head, causing a few pink strands of hair to fall over her face as she almost seemed to ask if he was waving at her or not.

"Definitely." he laughed. "What have you been up to, Coop?"

"Practice, mostly. Had a few days off because the folks took me and Sarah camping. It was...I'd rather not've. But it's how it is, and at least the scenery was good.

"Heard a really good mariachi band on the way back, too. Might have to try some of that."

Seeing her react, Simon waved again and then gestured to the empty seat next to him.

Astrid pushed off the wall, moving over to the empty seat and turning it slightly to sit on facing the back of the chair instead of sitting properly. Resting her head on the top of the chair as she did so.

"Yo" she offered, looking at the laptop then back at the boy "thanks. I was expecting to have to wait for the teacher before finding out where I'm allowed to sit."
