(D1, MN, Open) Patrol: Dumpster Diving

[Cameron York]

"For sure? I don't know. I've seen things here and there on like five or six students. And plus I mean some could be like me where they keep it hidden."

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"I guess I need to start hiding my bracelet. I wonder why this isn't a bigger deal. If we can both see it then other people must be able to see it too but I've never heard anyone talk about it. I mean, my friend Jake has the glow and we have never talked about it."

[Cameron York]

"People were probably a lot like us, knowing it was a thing but thinking we might be crazy. Not wanting to talk about it, afraid that people would find out we was crazy." He shrugged "If I hadn't seen you react to the map I wouldn't have told you about my necklace."

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"Well that's worrying, some real assholes have the glow in this town. Have you, asked your parents about it?"

[Cameron York]

Cam scoffed and shook his head "Nah man too many questions, I mean have you talked to yours?"

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"Hell no, they would probably send me to a funny farm or something. Shit; me, Astrid and Sybil saw and talked to a fairy this morning. This whole town is turning into a video game or something. What the hell is going on here?"

[Cameron York]

Umbra's figure reached up and flicked a wrist dismissively their form turning to oily shadow smoke and wafting away from the boy leaving Cam where Umbra once stood.

"They decided we weren't doing anything interesting enough." He explained.

"Alright let's see in the comics shit like this always goes down right? You gotta whole bunch of special peeps in one place it usually means it's about to go down. Maybe that's what's going on. I mean I relocated from Aurora, Astrid is from freaking Norway. You and I can both transform, and you saw a fairy and an ancient monster of myth just crept up out the lake. Something big is probably gonna happen."

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"Yeah but we don't have a Professor X and a Danger Room to train in. We definitely need a team if were going to do battle with the supernatural." Despite her caution there was a hint of excitement in Laura's voice. "No costumes though, I'll die before I dress up like Catwoman." She said with an awkward chuckle and pulled her coat closed.

[Cameron York]

"Clearly not, leather and whips doesn't seem your vibe but I could see you rockin like a Rogue look. Would be hella fly." He said with a chuckle.

"But I'd say we kind of already have our costumes." He said nodding to her wrist with beads.

"Anyway yeah we need to figure out who all is, you know, like us. Not sure if this chimera is the only problem heading toward this little town."

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

She blushed a little and hid her face behind some hair.

"OK well, I can try and talk to Jonothan tomorrow. If you know anyone or find anyone and you trust them you should probably talk to them too. When do you want to go check out the lake? I'm not sure we should do it at night even if that makes sneaking out there easier."

[Cameron York]

"Yeah that sounds like a plan. I don't have many connections but if I see anything or anyone that might help us I'll try to talk to them I guess."

"As for dealing with the chimera, I'd actually rather attack it at night. Umbra isn't really a fighter, they're more of a rogue. Sneaky and shadow control but I'm sure they could find ways to help even if we did it during the day."

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"Can Umbra see in darkness? I mean like, through darkness. As for a fight, we've kinda been wishing for one. Like, I was kind of hoping to fight a bear so this is better." While she didn't exactly sound confident she did sound the most excited he had ever heard her.

[Cameron York]

Cam shook his head "Not that I know of. But they can be real weird about sharing their abilities. It's like they enjoy keeping secrets. It can be kind of dramatic sometimes."

"Wait why a bear?" He asked realizing what she had said.

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"Well, shortly after meeting Ahn'Gr we saw a petrified cougar claw and he felt confident that it wouldn't harm him and a bear is the biggest thing with claws in North America. Sadly there hasn't been a grizzly bear in Colorado since like the 50s but there are still black bears around here. I guess if we go to Epcot this summer there are alligators."

Laura seemed totally comfortable with the idea of fighting a large predator.

"Ahn'Gr was a warrior for his people and some of the stuff that is out there in the galaxy sounds way worse than anything we have here."

[Cameron York]

"Huh guess all the Sci fi guys got it right." He commented thinking about what aliens must be out there stronger or more dangerous than a bear.

"Sounds like your guy shares a lot more with you than mine does. I barely know anything about Umbra."

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"That's messed up, if someone's going to share your body the least they can do is tell you about themselves. Lucky for me Ahn'Gr has no problem boasting about himself.

Umbra, if you don't trust Cameron why should he trust you? He's got way more to lose." She said scoldingly.

[Cameron York]

Cam chuckled "They say they like you." He replied

"I don't think they mean harm, just that's how they are. Plays their cards close to the chest."

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"I guess I get that. Well, when do you want to try and get down to the lake; tomorrow after dinner say 8 o'clock? We each keep an eye out at school for anyone we think we can trust and meet up near the trailhead?"

[Cameron York]

Cam nodded "yeah. That sounds like a plan. I'll cruise by the lake after dinner and see what we can turn up."

[Laura Dawson/Enrage]

"Cool, well I should probably get back home soon. My dad is one of those really early risers and getting up to my window is a huge pain in the ass." She brushed her hair back before rolling the map up. "It was really cool to hang out with you again, nice to know I'm not a total freak after all. And it was cool to meet you too Umbra, I can't wait to see what kinda craziness you two can do."
