[Elijah Cooper]

Coop
Elijah Cooper ("Lije" to his parents, "Coop" to his friends) is a student at Clearview High, where he is the trumpet section leader in the marching band, wind ensemble, and jazz band. Focused to what some would call an unhealthy extent on his music--he's looking to get into the Phantom Regiment and Julliard, and there's a good chance he'll succeed at both--he's somewhat awkward outside the bandhall, something not aided by the presence in the school of his almost abusively devout sister, Sarah.

He's been a bit...off since coming back from the last school holiday. He and his family went camping, and while any time spent with his sister's an annoyance for him, the shift in his attitude's not something that can be put down to that alone...

The Uncompahgre Exile, the Exiled Mover Who Hunts with Great Skill
Clad in buckskins and with a wooden mask across his eyes, the rawboned Uncompahgre Exile is only the latest manifestation of a cryptic character known in these parts since before white men saw them. Turned out long ago from his people to right a wrong he no longer remembers, the Exile hunts down wrongdoers across the Colorado countryside, the mask taken up in succession by those who need to do it. Why it chose Elijah's not certain at this point. What is certain, though, is that something about one of the other people here is awfully familiar...and that might not be a good thing...

[Asasara]

Isabe... Asasara is the coolest youth you've ever met in the flesh. She's an artist with a vision, and one day her drawings will be exhibited at some New York museum and sold for millions.

Until people recognize her genius, she's stuck working for her grades and at the grocery store to earn enough credentials/money to move to a big prestigious art college in the big city. So dull!

Sybil Alinsky
the Weird Teen



Every school has its weirdos. Most are just called that because they're not up-to-date on the latest trends, like the wrong kind of music, don't match the prevailing standard of attractiveness, or are into Dungeons and Dragons or something. And then there's the *actual* weirdos. Like Sybil. Sure, she doesn't really know what the latest craze is, she's into bands nobody has ever heard of, and while she isn't ugly she doesn't style herself the way popular and good looking girls at schools do. And yes, she does play a 12th level wizard.

None of which is why kids call her a weirdo.

No, something just feels *off* about her. She lives in her own world. Bullies gave up trying to bully her because she never seemed to understand or care that that's what they were doing. Ask her a question, and you might get an answer to something completely unrelated; if you get one at all. Nasty rumor is there's just something wrong with her brain; schizophrenia, or some other sort of mental illness like that. Kids can be mean like that, but maybe they have a point with Sybil.

There's also the weird thing with her *hair*, which... seems to... well... move on its own sometimes when you're looking at her from the corner of your eyes. Like the whole medusa thing, only there's no snakes and it's *probably*, maybe just like, the wind or something. Even when there's no wind around, and even though it seems to keep happening.

Hooks:

• Sybil's *weird*, and most people tend to avoid her because of it, but she's whizz at games of all varieties and runs a 12th level wizard in D&D.
• She's also a whizz at arts & crafts. People come to her for designs and crafts projects. If there's any garage bands in town, chances are she designed their album cover or band logo and what not.
• Her mom works at the diner, and seems to have done so for ages. Probably a well-known face there, and Sybil probably does her homework or eat her evening dinner there.

Jezzy Sparklight
The Chaotic Mover who Rides the Lightning

Jezzy Sparklight is a young woman who can instantly be recognized by her bright neon-pink hair. And if not that, then surely the real-life *hoverboard* she's usually cruising around on. She wears a loose fitting red-accented white outfit with oversized sleeves that might get confused for Pajamas. She also wears visor like blue-tinted goggles, and carries a large and vaguely cross-shaped piece of salvage with her that she sometimes wields as a weapon. There's occasional sparks of what looks like oddly pink-hued electricity around her; which tend to get flashier when she's speeding around or fighting.

She calls it the *Flux*, and it's the most important and powerful form of energy in the whole universe, but you primitive earthlings from the year 1992 can't possibly understand, of course. Not that that's any fault of your own. You guys are cool and all, don't worry. It's just hard to match the scientific knowledge of a galactic citizen from the far flung future of 8998, even if she grew up after the Galactic Gaian Commonwealth collapsed and created a galaxy wide post-apocalyptic landscape.

Anyway, forget all that stuff. It's not important! Time to kick some pre-GGC butt and ride the flux-lightning!

[Simon Lizotte]

Simon Lizotte the Inquisitive


Simon loves his home, his parents, and his town, but feels trapped by them all. He is a model student at Clearvale High who can be found buried in a book at lunch or working away on his PowerBook 170 during study hall. A voracious reader, Simon frequently loses himself in vast sci-fi and fantasy worlds, in tales of ancient, lost treasures and civilizations that vanished overnight, or in biographies of the explorers, adventurers, and scholars who sought out these mysteries.

Aside from reading about these adventures, the closest Simon gets to living them is in AD&D, where he usually plays a Cleric or Druid. Being on the shy side, he will usually opt for a more supportive role in the background rather than one in the limelight.

His one hobby grounded in reality is, surprisingly, disc golf. Despite the physical aspect, the feel of the disc taking flight through the sky and soaring towards the basket is a thrill Simon finds difficult to relinquish.

Eagle, the Jovial Mover who Throws with Deadly Accuracy


Eagle loves people and he feels invigorated when he gets to meet new people or make someone laugh. He may talk a mile a minute, but somehow you can still understand exactly what he's talking about. Eagle creates such an atmosphere when he's present, that most people don't even think to question who he is who where he came from.

He tries to hype up Simon to mingle with different cliques or to get invited to the next big party. Although his efforts are mostly wasted, that doesn't deter Eagle in the slightest.

While Eagle doesn't care much for all the books and electronics Simon loses himself in, they do share a passion for disc golf.

[David Smith]

David Smith is a Freshman at Clearview High, fairly new in town after his father left his job in the Army Core of Engineers (retired after 20 years if anyone actually asks him). However, as his father became the Father of the very recently built Catholic Church, David isn't treated as a total outcast immediately. For now, David does his best to hide his stammering and rosary.

Since he came back from spring break, David has filled in his shirts better, been more perceptive, and wears a polo instead of a typical t-shirt. Like any other student in a rural area, David went camping on vacation. Unlike the others, David has strengthened faith and has finally become baptized.

Father Jebediah Beauregard, the Ghost Preacher

Father Jeb has been given a mission from GOD. and as such will do whatever it takes to stop the forces of evil. However, without a body, the only way for him to succeed is to guide (manipulate?) a young boy onto the path of righteousness.

With only the mission to look forward to, and evil to watch out for, Jeb has developed a bit of paranoia. He constantly gives advice to the boy he cohabitates with, and only sometimes shares senses with the boy. When David says a certain phrase, Jeb takes over his body and channels holy power to protect those around him.

(Note, does not actually eat people or drink blood, just looks like an absolutely dead body because Jeb's soul doesn't receive any nutrients)

[Astrid Hansen]

Name: Astrid Hansen

Astrid was born in the remote town of Longyearbyen in northern Norway, the youngest of 5 children. Her parents had lived in this town their whole lives. Her mother Ida teaches languages while her father Lars is a scientist and Polar researcher, a job that often took him away for months at a time so for a large part of her childhood her father was a bit-part of her life. She has lived in America for less than 6 months, enrolled into what is called high school here. She was well ahead of her classes in Norway, and so has been put into a higher class with high expectations. She’s now dyed her hair pink, and used some of the money she was given to buy a few different contact lenses. While she is quite smart, she also seems to have an unusual pool of knowledge into things most wouldn’t, such as myths. She is fluent in both English and Norwegian, pronouncing her English more British than American though due to her upbringing.

She has recently managed to convince her father over the phone that she needed a mode of transport to get around town (she was always able to convince her father of things easier than her mother) so had extra money wired to her. Initially only intending to get something small, she discovered a beaten up Suzuki for sale and bought it. Dumb luck allowed her to work out how to fix it, and now it’s working well! She just has to cover up that she hasn’t got a licence yet…thankfully the place she’s staying in has a garage and the people she’s renting from seem very chilled. After all, she hasn’t told anyone about the weed garden they’re growing, so it’s only fair she gets to keep her own motorbike right?

Hel, The Mystical Adept of the Underworld


Hel came into existence Six months ago, awoken into a frozen landscape not truly understanding why she exists. She did not even have a name until the skull named her Hel. Since then, in the moments she walks the human world, she follows the voices of the dead. Sating their last words. She often prefers talking to the dead over the living, as the living chatter far too much for her liking.

Jonothan Wiles is the kid who sits by the window and rarely speaks. He only talks in class when a teacher calls on him to. Outside of class, he'll be found reading or writing in a notebook. Occasionally, he may be listening to music and staring into the distance. It's fair to say that many of his classmates would be unable to identify him by name. Those who can, will usually call him "John".

That's the nature of high school, however, only those who stand out are remembered by everyone. Kids like Jono are remembered by those who share his interests. You may have run into him at the library or the bookstore. You could have seen him at the theater or the video store. Maybe, you recognized the dice bag hanging from his backpack. You might even remember him as the elf playing songs for the kids waiting for Santa a few months ago.

Regardless, an exchange of a few words and he'd tell you all about that book, that movie or that song. Yes, he does have the Complete Thieve's Handbook, if you'd like to borrow it.

Laura Dawson, the Guarded

Age: 16
Hair: Dark Brown

Build: Under too many layers to tell

Laura is that girl you only ever vaguely remember, she is quiet and doesn't really stand out in any way. If you do know of her it's probably because of all the rumors spread about her by some of the more popular girls in school. She usually sits alone or with her friend Jake in out of the way places, drawing in her sketch pad or reading. She does not participate in gym class beyond the minimum and never volunteers to speak in class though she almost always gets the answer right when called on. When she does speak it is often to correct someone or call another student out on their lies.

Rumors about Laura
She dresses like that because she's poor, she got that jacket from a surplus store.
Laura is a psycho, have you seen the stuff she draws in that book? Super creepy and gross.
She has webbed toes, she probably isn't even human.
She's easy and is pregnant.



Enrage, the Tough Warrior who Abides In Stone

Cameron York, the Guarded Delinquent

Build: Athletic, on the slender side

Cam is a quiet kid from the big city of Aurora, he has a penchant for finding trouble. Does he go looking for it or does it tend to seek him out is anyone's guess but he's only been in town a couple of years and already had more than one run in with local authorities.

He can usually be found riding around town on his Skateboard or sitting by himself sketching in a clearly well used notebook. He doesn't have too many friends, a product of not being out going , being relatively new, and already gaining some rep. But while he doesn't seem to trust easy he isn't unfriendly when people do approach him.

Umbra, The Mysterious Explorer who Dances with Darkness

As their name suggests not much is known about Umbra, a shadowy masked figure often glimpsed from dark alleyways and shaded alcoves. They are always masked and clad in dark clothes from a bygone Era and on occasion have been spotted with a large spear. What they want or why they are here is anyone's guess but it is clear they have some greater design.

The Resilient Landon Jacobs

Landon Jacobs, called Eljay by his friends, which is pretty much everyone. He is an outgoing friendly all American athlete, who plays running back on the football team, does track, and really any other sport he can find. He has a reputation for strong moral character and being somewhat weak in academics.

Peregrine, the Empathic Explorer who Moves like the Wind

Peregrine is pretty much always in motion. He talks fast, and he reacts fast, almost impulsively. He reads people with a single glance and makes decisions about situation without much study or weighing of the consequences. He likes to think he is a hero, but often he comes across more as an agent of chaos then of justice.
