After a math class that could be described as boring, Astrid had picked up her lunch and again gone to the lunchroom. Picking up a bottle of juice again and nothing else, she found her way to the usual spot and sat down. However she only took a single box out of her bag this time, as well as a thermal flask. She waited to see when her usual lunch companion would appear before opening up further though.

Mariana, instead of going to the field to eat lunch, decided to come to the lunchroom. She saw Astrid and moved to that table. "Can I sit here?" She asked.

Cam showed up at the usual time and saw someone else had shown up as well. He recognized the girl but had never spoken to her much before last night.

"Hey Mariana, hey Astrid." He said as he approached.

There was a small look of surprise when someone else approached, but Astrid still nodded.

"Sure. I was also waiting for someone but there is room for more people."

Then said other person arrived and got a smile.

"Yo. We have an extra today with us it seems. Come, sit" she started to unpack the one box she had brought, taking out two bowls.

Mariana looked at Cameron and Astrid. "I can sit somewhere else if I am intruding." Mariana looked at any other available tables.

He looked at Mariana "I don't mind, and Astrid is pretty straight up, if she had a problem she woulda told you." He said with a little chuckle.

Cam slung his backpack onto the floor and sat down "what'd you make today? Some kind of soup?" He asked clued in by the thermos and bowls.

Mariana sat down and took her lunch out of her bag. She had a small butter bowl filled with yellow orange rice, another filled with beans and bag of corn chips.

Cameron is right, if I did not want you here I would just tell you" Astrid nodded as she opened the flask, pouring the contents into the first bowl and then the second, before taking a thick piece of white bread out to balance on the bowl.

"I made this before coming to work today. Nearly lost track of time and just made it, but it should still be warm."

She moved the bowl over to Cameron.

Mariana looked at the soup and nodded. "Smells nice... do you want to taste my mom's cooking. Traditional Mexican... can you handle spice?" She offered to both.

"What is it?" Astrid asked "this is recipe from home but I made it, is a fish soup. Can also share if you want?"

"Spicy rice and bean salad. I think she uses cayenne pepper and anato on the rice. The beans we have some onions, jalapeños, tomatoes, pinto beans, pink beans, black beans, and red kidney beans in a vinagrette."
